Welcome to Better Scribe’s Writing Prompt Friday. This is where I will post a prompt (every Friday) for you to use as a writing exercise. You will also get to read my own (unedited) response to the same prompt.
Your writing prompt is:
My response to the prompt:
I wished for a puppy and I was ecstatic when I received a beautiful King Charles Spaniel for my birthday. He was playful, loving and adventurous, everything that I had wished for.
That’s when the battle of wills began. He was also naughty, stubborn and a runner. Every time the door opened he would bolt down the road at full speed. With all of the family chasing him of course. He must have thought it was a great game. Until he did the same thing in a hail storm. We bolted after him hoping to get him back before he ran out in front of a car. He had no road sense of course. By the time we caught him and made it back to shelter we were all soaked. My dad had chest pain, my sister had concussion from being hit by a golf ball sized hail stone, and I was struggling to breathe and keep hold of a wet dog.
He got up to many other diabolical activities that would make your eyebrows raise and your stomach heave.
Really. How much trouble could a small, cute dog be?
Now it’s your turn to have a go!
