I took the entire weekend to think about this prompt because when it comes down to it I’m happy in my life. I have great friends and family who are there for me always and I wouldn’t swap them for anything.
But if I could do anything I wanted what would it be? It couldn’t be writing because that was already part of my life.
Then it hit me. I would be a wedding dress designer. These dresses are the ultimate formal dress. Elements that you wouldn’t normally see because they are too over-the-top for everyday wear are encouraged. Glamour, bling, edginess and craziness are allowed in this one dress for that one special day.
Being the designer of such dresses would mean I could let my creativity go wild. All those beautiful, soft fabrics and sparkling goodies for me to play with. I could create flowing dresses, tightly-fitted dresses, dresses with illusion backs and much more.
A day would consist of consulting with clients, sketching out the dress, measuring, cutting out patterns, cutting fabrics, beading work, fittings and more.
